Catcher for the Chicago Cubs Miguel Montero caused waves on Tuesday when he blamed pitcher Jake Arrieta for the 7 stolen bases that the Cubs allowed. General consensus is that Arrieta does have trouble with the running game but that Montero should have kept his mouth shut

It seems the Cubs agree with at least the last half of that sentence, because they designated him for assignment yesterday. There’s a good chance a different team will pick him up.

So far this season he has thrown out only 1 of the 31 players attempting to steal a base against him.
